Just 20 minutes from Uptown Charlotte, you’ll find North Carolina’s largest man-made body of water and all the fun surrounding it. Lake Norman has more than 500 miles of shoreline and includes the great towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Huntersville, and Denver. The lake is a way of life around here and we want to help you make the most of it. Here are some great tips for enjoying Summer on Lake Norman!

Lake Norman State Park

There’s plenty to do and see on Lake Norman, and Lake Norman State Park just happens to have all of it. Really! You’ll find public sandy beaches, free boat slips, a full boathouse, and miles and miles of mountain bike trails. If you don’t happen to be local, there are 32 full-service campsites with bath houses and outdoor fire pits. You can also head into the Visitor’s Center to rent kayaks, pedal boats, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards.

Queen’s Landing

If you want something where the day is all planned out for you, charter a boat via Queen’s Landing. Their yacht service is next level! You can book a two-hour sightseeing tour with an option to add on a boxed lunch to make things even easier. Or, schedule a romantic four-course dinner cruise on The Lady of the Lake. For a more casual meal, book a meal on the Catawba Queen riverboat on select Thursdays through Sundays.

Water Sports

For the more adventure based lake-goers, you may choose to do something a little more active and spirited. Regardless of your experience level, you can book a wakeboard or wake-surf session with Ride LKN Wake School. They deal with everyone from the very beginner up to professionals, so it’s fun for everyone.

These are just a few quick ideas on how to spend your time on Lake Norman. We want to hear your favorite! Tell us in the comments.
