Skippin' Stones

Close your eyes and think of the simplest joy from childhood. Let me guess: it was reaching down into the shallows of a lake shoreline to find the perfect stone. This charming vacation rental has so much character inside and out, but let’s start on the outside. The bright red exterior pops against the deep green of the landscaping. A huge, sloping backyard rolls right into Lake Norman and a private dock.

Sitting on over an acre, there’s plenty of space to enjoy the raised fire pit, hot tub, the oversized porch swing, huge deck with a retractable awning, and the various hammocks around the property. Enjoy the provided kayaks and paddleboards, or just jump straight into the water off the dock. 

After all that outdoor fun, enjoy the retro vibe of the inside. All the furnishings were tastefully selected to be comfortable and functional, yet fit the aesthetic of a mountainous lakeside cabin. There might not be a mountain but this house certainly fits the vibe. The vaulted ceilings and lakeside picture windows in the living room fill the space with natural light and you’ll never want to leave.

(Although you may want to, if only to enjoy the entertainers basement with a SmartTV, pool table, poker table, and board game library.)
