And with glorious springtime weather and newly bursting blooms, there’s no prettier time to be out and about in the Charlotte-metro! Read on for a list of springtime events, festivals, and experiences.

I Heart Rail Trail

This free event runs March 4 thru 20 on the South End rail trail. Enjoy an evening stroll along the light rail trail while you take in never-before-seen interactive light installations brightly illuminated against the Charlotte skyline.

Fort Mill Spring Fest

On March 19, head South to Fort Mill just across the state line in South Carolina for their Spring Fest and St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Located at Baxter Village Town Center, this event is free to enter and boasts 125 vendors, live entertainment, and a St. Patrick’s Day Parade complete with bagpipers, Irish dancers, and floats.

The Charlotte Fair

Running March 25 thru April 1, the Charlotte Fair is being held at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. There is a cost to enter ($3.50 for kids and $7.50 for adults) but this ticket price gives you access to live shows, a petting zoo, carnival fare, and more than 30 rides.
