Spotlight: Denver’s beautiful Lakewood neighborhood

The popular Denver community of Lakewood has large homes, homes sites and waterfront lots located along the western shore of Lake Norman.

Lakewood is located off Burton Lane from Webbs Road adjacent to Sailview, another popular Denver/Lake Norman community.

In Lakewood you can enjoy a more laid-back atmosphere as well as lower tax rates and great Lincoln County schools.

Huntersville and Birkdale are an easy 15-mile drive for a day of shopping, movies or dinner out. The Charlotte metro area is less than 30 miles for a commute or just a day trip into the city for sporting events or entertainment.

Sally’s YMCA is only a few minutes south of Lakewood for family recreation and fitness. Westport Golf Club is also just a short drive from the neighborhood.

The Village at Sherrills Ford at Highway 150 and Slanting Bridge Road will be a large mixed-use development with residential as well as retail and dining space when it is completed.

Lakewood was started in 2007 and centered around the peace, tranquility and privacy afforded by living on the edge of Lake Norman. The neighborhood has gated boat storage for residents not living on waterfront lots. There is a public boat ramp at Burton Lane just outside the neighborhood.

The neighborhood has large interior, water view and waterfront homes, both newer homes and original homes built in 2007. Home styles and sizes vary. There are homes from 3,000 square feet to nearly 7,000 square feet.

Homes in Lakewood have sold for more than $1 million, however, in the last 12-month period the highest sales price in Lakewood is $660,000.

The average sales price for the 7 homes sold during the last 12 months was $530,682 and nearly $133 per square foot. Sales averaged 96% of list price.
