Yard Art Day

After taking a year off, Yard Art Day is back and better than ever! On Monday, September 2, front yards in Charlotte and throughout the entire metro region, will feature art installations of all shapes and sizes. It’s the quirkiest, most interesting way to spend Labor Day… and there’s still time to participate. That’s right! You don’t have to be a professional artist to have your own Yard Art! U.S. National Whitewater Center

This wildly popular Charlotte destination is known for a lot of things. Namely, as a practice and training facility for Olympic athletes. But, around Charlotte, we know the waters run green on St. Patrick’s Day and that their Labor Day celebration is second to none. On Sunday, September 1, the USNWC has a whole day of festivities planned. Enjoy live music, yoga clinics, trail races, and fireworks. Admission is free but there is a $6 fee to park.

Charlotte Labor Day Parade

Starting at 11am on Monday, September 2, this Charlotte tradition marches through Uptown Charlotte for the 20th time. The Charlotte Labor Day Parade route this year goes from the Hal Marshal Center, south on Tryon St. through The Square, turning on 3rd St, and ending on College Street. Of course there’s no admission, but arrive early to score a good view!
