Last week, U.S. News & World Report revealed its list for the best high schools by metro area for 2019. In doing so, it ranks what it believes to be the highest rated and best public high schools in the Charlotte metro region.

To compile the list, U.S. News & World Report looked at six major components. These key factors are: graduation rates; college readiness; college curriculum breadth; math and reading proficiency; math and reading performance; and underserved student performance. Each factor is weighted differently within each score. For example, college readiness holds 30% of a school’s overall score.

In the Charlotte metro, 11 high schools made the list for the top 1,000 public high schools in the country. Additionally, 6 of the area’s 25 top high schools had a graduation rate of 100%.
