Blog > One NC Metro Among Top US Cities- Is It Charlotte?
As it does every year, the U.S. News & World Report recently released their list of the top 10 places to live in the country. The report took the 150 largest metropolitan areas in the United States and ranked them according to several factors. Affordability, desirability, quality of life, job availability, crime rates, and education scores all played into the rankings.
In 2021, Boulder, CO claimed the top spot but this year they were ousted in favor of Huntsville, AL. This is due in large part to the Meta/Facebook data hub located there, as well as its distinction as future home to the U.S. Space Command Headquarters. Despite all these industries, home prices remain at or even just slightly less than the national median price.
What About Charlotte?
While other North Carolina cities made the overall list, only one made the top 10. That honor goes to the Raleigh-Durham metro area and they claimed the sixth spot.

Charlotte came in at No. 30 on the ranking of 150 best places to live in the United States.
