Blog > Best Cities for Millenials
The votes have been tallied and the results are in… According to Knock’s 2022 home buying forecast, Charlotte has been named one of the top 10 metros for a millennial to purchase a home! The study took various age demographics and weighed them against the amenities and offerings of 100 real estate markets around the country. Here’s their decision making process:
- Affordability
- Housing inventory
- Aspects of interest to each age group
What they came up with is top ten lists for each demographic. It just so happens that our very own Queen City made the list for best cities for millennials.
But where on the list do we fall?
Charlotte nabbed the No. 9 spot for a variety of reasons. While each of the millennial metros shared features, like 11% more affordable than median prices across the nation, 19% more homes for sale, and millennials making up at least a quarter of the population, Charlotte had its own draws as well. The Queen City was highlighted for being a center of finance and industry, having a strong job market with higher than average employment rates in tech and banking, and a vibrant quality of life.
Charlotte is in good company with all the other cities on the Top 10 list. Here they are ranked in order from 10th to 1st:
